GETTING THERE

The journey to the Habsburghaus

HOW TO GET TO US SAFELY

Please note when you arrive:

We do recommend that you start from the Hinternaßwald car parking lot not because it is the fastest and most direct way to us, but the incredible, various landscape offers one eye candy after the other.  Besides the way to the parking lot alone spoils your senses already with a peek into an area where the work is still ok. Unfortunately, access by car directly to the Habsburghaus is not possible (sometimes we wish it would be;).

Mountain security: Let us know your phone number when you make your reservation so we can call you in an emergency. Although the Rax is one of Vienna's local mountains, it should not be underestimated!

Pets are indeed welcome during the day. However, we cannot accommodate dogs overnight for hygienic and organizational reasons.

Mobile phone charging is possible at the hut. A power bank can make life on the mountain a lot easier.

TOURS FOR YOUNG AND OLD

Travel with the whole family

There is no age limit for hiking, nor for our Habsburghaus! Our youngest guest so far was only 6 months old -of course he had a comfortable ride in a children's back bag carrier. We often have 2-year-old children to visit, who march the way across the plateau from the cable car to us. But we are also blessed with regular visits by 85-year-old (experienced) mountaineers who still come up the Kaisersteig. Everyone is an inspiration. The mattress camp under the roof with its bunk beds is particularly fun for the children, and the immediate surroundings of the Habsburghaus with all its incredible nature is exciting and great for young and old anyway.
